Three Services, Each Done With Full Attention

We keep our scope narrow deliberately. Every service we offer is one we can do at the standard a serious timepiece deserves.

Our Approach

The Method Behind Each Service

Every watch that arrives at Suvarna Horology goes through the same intake process: documentation, initial assessment, discussion with the owner where relevant, and a written estimate before any work begins. This isn't bureaucracy — it's how we ensure that the work we do matches what the watch actually needs.

We work on one category of watch at a time at each bench. Movement restoration does not share a bench with case polishing. Antique pocket watches are handled in a separate, quiet section of the workshop where they can sit undisturbed between stages. This organisation reduces the risk of parts mix-up and keeps each technician focused on a single type of work.

Mechanical movement restoration

Service 01

Mechanical Movement Restoration

A careful, multi-stage restoration of mechanical movements for vintage and modern wristwatches that have lost accuracy or stopped running. Our watchmakers disassemble the movement, clean each component in an ultrasonic bath, inspect for wear under magnification, lubricate with archival-grade oils, and reassemble with timing adjustments calibrated across multiple positions.

Suitable for Swiss, German, and Japanese calibers. Includes a written condition report and a six-month service period covering workmanship. Typical turnaround: 4 to 6 weeks.

Full disassembly and ultrasonic cleaning bath
Component inspection under binocular magnification
Archival-grade lubrication (Moebius oils)
Six-position timing adjustment and computer verification
Written condition report included

Service 02

Crystal Replacement & Case Polishing

Replacement of scratched or damaged sapphire, mineral, or acrylic crystals, paired with a hand-polish of the case to address light wear. We source crystals matched to the original specification where possible, and the case treatment is tailored to preserve original brushed and polished finishes rather than simplifying them.

Includes gasket replacement and a basic water-resistance check. Suited for everyday timepieces that benefit from a refreshed appearance without the cost of a full service.

Case hand-polished preserving original finish character

Service 03

Antique Pocket Watch Servicing

A specialist path for pocket watches and early wristwatches, often with movements that require custom-fabricated parts. We document the piece on arrival, consult with the owner before any irreversible work, and treat each timepiece as a small object of history.

Work may include mainspring replacement, jewel inspection, hand restoration, and dial cleaning where the dial finish allows. Detailed photographic documentation is provided throughout. Turnaround varies by complexity — we'll give you a realistic estimate at intake.

Full photographic documentation at each stage
Owner consultation before any irreversible work
Custom part fabrication where required
Mainspring, jewels, hands, and dial work as applicable
Complexity-adjusted turnaround estimate at intake

Shared Standards

What Every Service Includes

Owner Confidentiality

Client information and watch details are held privately and not shared with third parties. We store intake records securely and only for as long as operationally necessary.

Measurable Outcomes

Timing results are recorded from a calibrated timing computer, not estimated by feel. You receive the actual figures for amplitude, beat error, and daily rate deviation.

Workshop Availability

Questions during a service are welcome. We're reachable by phone and email during workshop hours and respond to all messages within one working day.

Trained Technicians Only

No work is delegated to untrained assistants. Every technician in the workshop has formal instruction in mechanical watchmaking and practical experience.

Grade-Appropriate Materials

Lubricants, replacement parts, and cleaning solutions are selected to the type and age of each movement — not defaulted to whatever is cheapest or most convenient.

Six-Month Service Period

Movement restoration services include a six-month workmanship period. If a timing fault develops from our work within that window, we address it at no additional cost.
